and the RED CROSS of ST. GEORGE!!

Thats right, even though he was born in Palestine, St. George was a Roman citizen and a high ranking Roman military officer in the army of Diocletian.... he had been appointed TRIBUNE of the IMPERIAL GUARD.....

THE RED CROSS OF ST. GEORGE IS ONE OF THE MOST IDENTIFIABLE SYMBOLS IN THE WORLD!!

As was described on the previous pages, The RED CROSS depicts the BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST himself!

JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA.....(some historical texts suggest that Joseph was actually the brother of Jesus) However, he is credited with the original "CROSS CONCEPT!" After the SHAME OF JESUS’S crucifixion, he presented a "RED CROSS" on a background of silver and white to the PAGAN KING ARVIRAGUS in BRITAIN and then converted him and his people to CHRISTIANITY!

Joseph was a merchant and owned the burial chamber in which JESUS'S WAS LAID....he was the very same bloke responsible for helping to remove JESUS from the cross and place him in his tomb....(again some writers say that he negotiated with Ponchus Pilate during the crucifixion to assist in reducing his suffering during the ordeal on the cross)

The St. George cross is a RED UPRIGHT CROSS ON A WHITE BACKGROUND…..he is also the patron saint of England. This symbol was around long before the countries of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England became one Nation!!!!

WHAT TYPE OF INDIVIDUAL OR POLITICAL PARTY WOULD TRY TO DESTROY A SYMBOL THAT REFLECTED THE CHRISTIAN VIRTUES AND VALUES OF JESUS CHRIST??

Other notable Christian Saints on our flag include ST.ANDREW who also was MARTYRED and CRUCIFIED on a DIAGONAL CROSS……His symbol reflected on our flag is a WHITE DIAGONAL CROSS ON A BLUE BACKGROUND. He is the patron saint of Scotland. St. Andrew was the BROTHER OF ST. PETER, the leading DECIPLE of Jesus' twelve APOSTLES….Peter later became the FIRST POPE OF ROME!!

Now that is fairly powerful stuff......what an incredible heritage!!

The other Christian Saint was St. Patrick, he was not martyred and is the PATRON SAINT OF IRELAND, he is depicted with a RED DIAGONAL CROSS ON A WHITE BACKGROUND.

St. David is the patron Saint of Wales…He is identified by an upright WHITE CROSS. As Wales was defeated by the English, their CROSS EMBLEM was not included in the UNION JACK…..the PRINCE OF WALES NOW REPRESENTS STATE.
